Blasphemy Alert: Luau Smoked Pineapple

Whether it be Bugs Bunny rocking Rossini or Wills being a normal douchebag dude, I'm a huge fan of blasphemy.

In the case of dranks, "blasphemy" refers to things one wouldn't normally "dare" do... like use good scotch in a cocktail.

A tiki cocktail, at that.

Check out the Drink Blog for more details, but I've been trying to find a good use for peaty scotch, which smells a bit too much like Comet for me to drink it straight.

Well done, you.

Luau Smoked Pineapple
  • 1 oz peaty scotch (I used Talisker Storm)
  • ½ oz lime juice
  • ¾ oz orgeat (homemade if you have it)
  • ¾ oz lemon juice
  • 1 oz. pineapple juice
  • ½ oz blended scotch (I used Monkey Shoulder)
  • lime juice
"Steel yourself for using Scotch in a cocktail. It's totally worth it. Add all of your liquids except your blended Scotch into your cocktail shaker with ice. Shake. Pour into your Collins glass. You already added ice to that right? Maybe do that first. Then pour your cocktail in there. Now, float your blended Scotch on top. It ties it all together you see. Garnish lovingly. Admire a quality tiki drink with Scotch! Might as well drink it too." – The Drink Blog
